Azelastine belongs to a class of drugs known as antihistamines and works by inhibiting the release of a chemical called histamine from the cells in your body which helps relieve symptoms such as runny nose, itching, sneezing and stuffy nose caused by allergies or other conditions. It is also used for asthma and skin rashes.
